Anti-money laundering policy
Start Global and its regulated partners are committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud. This is a summary of how we do it. TODO lawyer validate against the compliance programs of Bridge and of each local partner, and define who the compliance officer is.
Know your customer (KYC)
Before opening a personal account we verify your identity: a valid ID document, a selfie with liveness check, your address, your tax ID and information about your activity and the source of your funds. Verification is carried out by our regulated partners with specialized providers.
Know your business (KYB)
For business accounts we verify that the company exists (certificate of formation, EIN, Operating Agreement), its address and its activity, and the identity of each beneficial owner with 25% or more and of its representatives.
Transaction monitoring
- We review transactions to detect unusual patterns or activity that does not match what you declared.
- We apply limits based on your verification level, plus withdrawal safeguards.
- We screen customers, counterparties and wallet addresses against international sanctions lists (for example, OFAC) and lists of politically exposed persons.
Additional information
At any time we may ask you for documents that support a transaction or the source of your funds. If you do not send them, we may limit or close your account.
What we do not allow
- Using the account for illegal activities or on behalf of third parties who are not verified.
- Operating from sanctioned countries or with sanctioned people.
- Lending or selling your account, or letting someone else use it.
Reports to the authorities
When the law requires it, our regulated partners report suspicious transactions to the competent authorities. By law, we cannot tell you when that happens.
Record keeping
We keep identity and transaction data for the period required by regulations, generally five years from the date the account is closed.
